Getting to Know Our Products
At Standard Communications, our mission is to give our customers what they demand:
"the ultimate in quality, value, reliability and service"
This business philosophy has guided our company to the peak of product innovation. In each market that Standard Communications serves, we deliver leading-edge world technology in quality design and manufacturing.
Creating a Culture of Excellence
Standard Communications was formed in 1969 to satisfy the need for high performance, high value electronics. Our company began as a partnership with Standard Radio in Japan which later became Marantz, the renowned manufacturer of high-end audio products. In the early days of the company, Standard designed and manufactured the first solid-state VHF marine radio. As innovation continued, our capabilities grew. New ideas for products sprang up from advances in technology, enabling the company to rise to a new "Standard" for product excellence. The company quickly evolved into a manufacturing leader.
During these growth years, the company added product lines such as professional two-way radios, pagers, crystals and cellular data modules. We applied our expanding global resources and a commitment to "Deliver The Best" by creating breakthrough products in each successive decade. In the 1980s, we entered the broadcast and cable TV markets, eventually focusing on designing products for these industries.
Strengthening Our Global Identity
During the 1990s our principal manufacturing partner, Marantz Japan Inc., acquired ownership of Standard Communications. With this consolidation, Standard Communications continued to build on a long history with its long-term partner a relationship that continues to supply products for our markets.
Then, in 2003, Standard Communnications became part of Steren Electronics International LLC. Beginning in Mexico City in 1956, Steren has a global reach, with offices and manufacturing facilities in the United States, Mexico, and South East Asia.
At its U.S. headquarters in San Diego, California, Steren Electronics is the undisputed leader in video, voice and data connectivity solutions.
